Access Services

The Access Services Department is responsible for charging, discharging, and shelving the Library's books, journals, and reserve materials. Access Services is also responsible for maintaining the sequential order of books and journals on the shelves, geared toward promptness of re-shelving and the preservation of the collection.

Two reserve collections are housed in the Access Services Department. The first is a collection of core textbooks that are in high demand; the second is materials placed on reserve by instructors for specific courses and for a specified period of time. Reserve materials may not be taken out of the library.

Wireless Laptops are available for checkout for inhouse use only.

In an effort to have as many books and journals as possible available in the library, a fine structure has been instituted. Impending fines encourage the return of borrowed library materials in a timely manner.
